As a recent subscriber of Boxy Charm, I have only received 4 boxes. Yet, each of the boxes prior to this month’s subscription box has been filled with 4-6 amazing full & travel sized beauty products. Most of the products I’ve received have been products I wouldn’t have thought to go out and purchase on my own; however,  I have thoroughly enjoyed opening & using each of them. I enjoyed some of the products so much that I have intentions on repurchasing some of them when I start running low. I get extremely excited each month when I get the notification that my next box is on the way. It’s like I can’t wait for the mailman to deliver my package so that I can hurry out to get my box and see what’s inside. I’ve loved most of the products inside my last 4 boxes.

After receiving last month’s box and loving it just as much as the previous ones, I started wondering when things would go bad with my subscription. My boxes had pretty much begun to seem too good to be true. All my other subscriptions only give one or two months of amazing products before going further & further downhill. They all would eventually start sending products that didn’t fit my interests or skin tone. Yet, Boxy Charm seems to have broken that cycle.  Although the contents in this month’s box didn’t stand up as well as my previous boxes, I did enjoy using all of the products that were sent to me. There were also a  few items that I loved so much I added them to my makeup kit. On the other hand, this month’s subscription box was my least favorite experience with Boxy Charm thus far. It was not because of the products since they are all great products. It’s just that some of those products just weren’t great picks for me. It seemed as if Boxy Charm restocked some of their most loved products and spread them out to all of their subscribers without considering their interests or needs. Nevertheless, the amazing products in this month’s Boxy Charm subscription box included PUR’s Midnight Masquerade Palette, IT Cosmetics’ Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara, Briogeo’s Don’t Despair Repair Strength Leave-In, Wander Beauty ‘s Baggage Claim Eye Masks, and Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick.

The company featuring this product as a Boxy Charm hot ticket item was a brilliant idea. When PUR designed the Midnight Masquerade palette, they created a beautiful face palette that contains 10 fabulous shades that are perfect for transforming your entire face. The palette contains 6 buttery matte and shimmer eyeshadows in addition to 4 shimmery face shades created to work as a hi-lighter, bronzer, and two blushes. This palette is highly pigmented, smooth, soft & easily blendable yet utterly beautiful. IT Cosmetics – Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara

IT Cosmetics is a well known high-end makeup brand that creates amazing products. I’ve tried several of the company’s products and loved each of them; however, I hadn’t tried or heard about their Superhero Elastic Strech Volumizing Mascara. After received this mascara and trying it, I was so disappointed to just now have the opportunity to learn about this amazing product.  IT Cosmetics truly created a great product when they designed this mascara. This product has a bold, beautiful, and high-quality formula that goes onto your lashes effortlessly. It also gives your lashes an elongated length and extreme volume with the first swipe. This mascara transforms your eyelashes without leaving them clumpy or caked together. IT Cosmetics’ Superhero Mascara retails at $24 and can be found online at itcosmetics.com, here at Amazon.com in addition to online and in-store with some cosmetic retailers, department stores and discount retailers.

Briogeo – Don’t Despair Repair Strength Leave-in Spray

I wasn’t familiar with Briogeo’s brand or products prior to receiving this sample. By having naturally curly hair, it’s hard to find products that are designed to work best for other hair types that also work well with my hair. I have thick, coily, curly hair; therefore, my hair usually needs products that add a LOT of moisture and contain oils that hydrate my hair. Since most products that target other hair concerns don’t generally have the nutrients my hair needs, I’m not keen on trying out most hair products. I was actually disappointed in receiving yet another hair product from a subscription.  When I receive hair products in subscriptions they are rarely designed to work well with my hair. Yet, I still took a chance on this product and tried it. To my surprise, I actually didn’t have a bad experience with Briogeo’s leave in spray. Since the product is created for dry hair and created with Argan Oil it works really well with my hair. It added the extra moisture my hair needed without being too heavy or weighing my hair down. Briogeo truly created a great product with this spray!  This product retails at $28 and can be found online at briogeohair.com as well as online and in-store with some cosmetic retailers.

Wander Beauty – Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks

I learned about Wander Beauty a few months ago when I received some of their items in two of my previous subscription boxes. I truly adore their products. Wander Beauty puts a lot of love and attention to detail in their products and it shows in the high-quality formulas and packaging. When it comes to their Baggage Claim eye masks, theirs no other product like them. They work really well to revive your under eye area by reducing fine lines, puffiness & rejuvenating your skin. The formula of this product was so amazing that I actually added this product to my beauty routine. The only disappointing thing about having this product in my box this month is that Boxy Charm sent me 3 sets of these exact same eye masks two months ago. As much as I love the company and this product, I would like to have more variety in my monthly boxes so I don’t get repeat items every other month. On the other hand, I do enjoy having a few more of these masks free of charge so I won’t call it a complete loss. These powerful little masks retail at $25 and can be found online at wanderbeauty.com, here at Amazon.com as well as online and in-store with some cosmetic retailers.

Kat Von D – Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

Kat Von D is a high-end makeup brand known for creating products that transform your look. I love their product and even own a few. I’ve actually wanted to try their Everlasting Liquid Lipstick for quite some time; I just hadn’t decided on the perfect color to try. Thanks to Boxy Charm I finally had the opportunity to try this product. Kat Von D did an amazing job creating a liquid lipstick that dries down to a matte finish without making your lips feel dry or appear cracked. The smooth, extra creamy and easy to use formula is everything you want in a long-lasting lipstick. I was sent the color Crucifix which is a beautiful shade of deep chocolate and perfect for my skin tone. Kat Von D’s Liquid Lipstick retails at $20 can be found online at katvondbeauty.com, boxycharm.com as well as online and instore with some cosmetic retailers.

My October Alter Ego Boxy Charm subscription turned out to be a great box. Although I was a little disappointed about receiving a duplicate product from a box I received not long ago, it didn’t ruin the experience. The fact that the product was something I enjoy using and would benefit from having more of made it worth having. The other products in my box were all products that I enjoyed trying and can’t wait to use again. The experience gained from using the amazing products alone is worth more than the $21 investment. However, the retail prices of the 5 products in this month’s subscription total over $135. I’d say that this month’s box was definitely worth the investment just as all of my previous boxes.
